Packages

The Rockland County Correctional Center will no longer accept books, magazines or newspapers brought in by visitors. All material must be received directly from a publisher or vendor such as Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

The only packages accepted at the front desk are court clothes for exchange only and a bra for female incarcerated persons (that contains no wires).

Bail

All persons bailing out any incarcerated person are required to present two valid forms of identification at the time of posting bail. The following forms of identification will be accepted for posting bail:

  • Valid driver's license, passport, voter registration card, Military ID, sportsman license, original or certified copy of a birth certificate, original or certified copy of a marriage license.
  • At least one of the above items must be a photo ID.
  • If paying bail by check, the check must be a certified Bank check made out to; The Sheriff of Rockland County. Any other type of check will not be accepted.

Visiting Registration

Morning Visiting Session: Visitors must register at the front desk in the main lobby no later than 9:30am to receive a visit.

Afternoon Visiting Session: Visitors must register at the front desk in the main lobby no later then 9:30am to receive a visit.

NOTE:

  • Incarcerated individuals are only entitled to two visits per week.
  • Visitation will be denied if there is an active Order of Protection against the visitor or incarcerated individual.
  • Visiting schedule begins on Saturday and ends on Friday of each week.
  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with the child's original birth certificate and guardianship paper if applicable.
  • Parent or legal guardians are required to fill out and complete the guardianship logbook prior to the entry of a person under the age of 18 into the waiting room.

GROUP A: Last names beginning with the following letters - A, B, C, D, E, F, G

GROUP B: Last names beginning with the following letters - H, I, J, K, L, M, N

  • Saturday 12:30pm - 2pm

  • Thursday 8am - 10:30am

GROUP C: Last names beginning with the following letters - O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z

  • Friday 8:30am - 10:30am

GROUP D: Incarcerated persons with the following classification/status - Protective Custody, Administration Segregation, ETC.

Afternoon and evening Legal visits for incarcerated individuals are as follows:

  • 3:30pm - 5pm
  • 6:15pm - 7pm
  • 7:30pm - 10pm

Searches of Visitors

  • All prospective visitors may be searched solely to ensure that they possess no contraband prior to entry into the visiting area.
  • Contraband is deemed to mean any item or substance NOT EXPRESSLY PERMITTED.
  • Any visitor or incarcerated individual, who possesses, attempts to possess, or attempts to pass any article or substance not expressly permitted will be arrested for promotion of prison contraband.
  • Visitors are not permitted to bring their personal effects (wallet, pocketbook, watches, jewelry, money, keys, tobacco products and lighting materials, beepers, cell phones, etc) into the visiting area. Wedding rings may be worn.
  • Any food and/or beverages are NOT permitted in the visiting area
  • Any personal property left by visitors will be disposed of at the end of every visiting day

Visitor Identification

All visitor identification shall mean a person who presents adequate proof of their identity. Adequate identification shall be at least, but not limited to, the following;

Acceptable forms of identification:

  • Current and valid Department of Motor Vehicle Drivers License.
  • Current and valid State issued Non-Drivers Identification Card.
  • Current and valid employee photo identification card issued by a Federal, State or Local government agency.
  • Original or certified original U.S. issued birth certificate accompanied with a valid school or employment photo identification.

All visitors shall be properly identified and all addresses on all of the identification must match.

The following identification will not be accepted:

  • Social Security cards
  • Credit cards
  • Food store cards
  • Check cashing cards
  • Gym membership cards, etc.

Visitors Attire

  • See through clothing or mesh type garments are not permitted.
  • Halter, tanks or tube tops are not permitted.
  • Low cut shirts, V necks and scoop neck shirts are not permitted.
  • Shirts or tops with spaghetti straps are not permitted.
  • Sleeveless or cap sleeve shirts or dresses are not permitted.
  • Shirts that expose any mid-drift section or bare back are not permitted.
  • Shirts must be long enough to completely cover you while you are seated. There is to be no exposed skin.
  • Any clothing that is ripped is not permitted.
  • Clothing with offensive or alarming graphics is not permitted.
  • Short shorts and short skirts are not permitted. General Guideline: Vistors should stand straight with their arms hanging naturally at their sides with fingers pointing to the ground. The fingers should not extend below the hem of the shorts or skirt.
  • Belts are not persmitted.
  • Pants must adhere to the visitor's waistline (nothing loose).
  • Tight fitting clothing are not permitted. Examples are but not limited to; spandex, leggings, yoga pants, and tight fitting jeans.
  • Jackets, coats, bulky sweaters and/or hooded garments are not permitted.
  • Solid orange colored clothing is not permitted.
  • Religious head wear such as a Kufi, Yarmulke and Khimar may be worn. The individual requesting to wear the item will be required to remove the covering so the covering and the hair may be searched for the purpose of contraband prior to entering the visiting room.

The following items are not permitted in the visiting room;

  • Jewelry (wedding ring is an exception), piercings of any sort or body part, wallets, keys, pocketbooks, beepers, phones of any sort, hair scrunchies, hair clips, hair pins, hair bands, tobacco products, anything used to ignite a tobacco product, food, drinks of any sort, candy, gum and any other items that may be indicated by corrections officers.
  • If a visitor needs to secure any items, a locker may be assigned with an additional form of ID.

Visitor Conduct & Expected Behavior

  • Visitors & incarcerated individuals are required to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with reasonable standards of public decency.
  • Criminal violations of the NYS Laws, possession of contraband, destruction of county property, behavior that constitutes a threat to the safety, security, good order of the facility or the health of incarcerated individuals will result in termination fo the visit, denial or revocation of visits and criminal prosecution. Contraband is deemed to mean any item not expressly permitted.
  • You will be denied a visit if you appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs
  • All contents from all of the pockets on your clothing should be removed as you will be required to pass through a metal detector.
  • Visitors may briefly, hug, kiss, shake hands with the incarcerated individual the are visiting one time at the beginning of the visit and again at the end of the visit.
  • Handholding or raising your hands across the counter divider during a visit is strickly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the visit.
  • Visitors with young children are required to keep the children in their laps or on the seat next to them, they are not to be left unattended. Children are not permitted to sit on the counter or to be passed over the divider to the incarcerated individual or the visit will be terminated.
  • Loud, vulgar or obscene language is not permitted in the visiting lobby or visiting room and will result in the immediate termination of the visit.
  • Cross talking or gesturing is not permitted in the visiting room with either incarcerated individuals or other visitors.
